Originally originated in Bordeaux, France , it became extinct in France in the mid-nineteenth century due to pests and diseases in grape roots , but the climate in Chile is very suitable for the growth of Carmenere.

Growth characteristics: Carmenere is a late-ripening variety that prefers warm, well-drained, medium-to-low-fertility soils. The fruit is generally dark blue, and the fruit is medium in size.
