Finding accommodation in Singapore

Finding accommodation in Singapore

  • Student Accommodation at James Cook University

    Accommodation Options for Students

Organizing your accommodation is an important step. It is essential for students to arrange suitable accommodation prior to arriving in Singapore, as there will be limited time to complete other post-arrival formalities, such as medical check-ups, student pass application and collection, opening of bank accounts, student administration, and more. The type of accommodation selected will depend on various factors, including budget. There is a range of accommodation options in Singapore to meet different budgeting needs.

James Cook University can assist students in finding suitable accommodation through its appointed accommodation providers.

Please note that James Cook University is not responsible for any agreements made between students and landlords, hostel management, or private housing agents. The information provided is intended solely as a guide. The University does not profit in any way from these accommodation offerings.

  • Student Accommodation at Assas International

    Accommodation Options for Students

Assas International Singapore does not offer on-campus accommodation, and students are responsible for arranging their own housing. The university provide general guidance on available options, including renting from the local market through a property agent via www.propertyguru.com.sg or choosing co-living spaces such as Dash, Hmlet, Homey, and Cove.

In Singapore, property agents do not charge renters a commission, as fees are covered by property owners. For short-term stays, it is important to note that Airbnb and similar short-term rentals (less than three months) are illegal. For stays exceeding three months, Airbnb rates become comparable to co-living or serviced apartment options, making them viable alternatives for students seeking temporary housing.
