Payment procedure

Service fee paid to Asia Exchange:

Fees paid to HUFS: Application fee amount + Matriculation fee + tuition fee on average. Please note tuition fees vary depending on the degree you choose to partake in. View the latest prices here.

The application fee and tuition fees for the full degree at HUFS are paid directly to the university. Asia Exchange grants study scholarships for all successful full degree applicants during their first semester. This guarantees applying through Asia Exchange is cheaper than submitting a direct application.

Many of our students apply for national student funding such as PROMOS, BAföG, or CSN.

In addition to the Asia Exchange scholarship, other various scholarships are available for all nationalities. Read more about scholarships.

All international students outside Korea will need to apply for a student visa at the embassy or consulate of the Republic of Korea. You must apply for the visa in person at the Korean embassy in your home country.

• A minimum age of 18 years
• You should have sufficient English skills (at least B2 level). You will need to submit written proof of your English skills together with your application (see required attachments below).
• Both biological parents and/or current legal guardians must not have Korean nationality.

Please note all documents must be submitted in English.

• Official High School Transcript (Apostille or Consular Confirmation needed) in English
• Official High School Graduation Certificate (Apostille or Consular Confirmation needed) in English
• A copy of the identification page of your passport (please note that your passport must be valid for at least 18 months after your trip starts)
• A passport-style color photo. The background must be white. The picture should preferably be in JPEG format.
• Official language certificate (TOEFL, and IELTS). If you do not hand in an official language certificate, you may be invited to an interview.
• Copies of Both Parents’ Passports (or official documents indicating parents’ nationality) in English,
• Official document indicating a parent-child relationship between the applicant and his/her parents in English.

After completing the online application to the Uway Apply portal of HUFS and paying the application fee, kindly submit the physical copy of your application packet/documents by registered mail to HUFS no later than the application deadline. Please note that HUFS cannot accept late arrival of application documents.

INSTRUCTIONS

• Please upload the attachments in PDF format.
• If possible, please submit all the attachments together with the application. If you’re missing some attachment(s) when you first apply, you can send the missing document(s) later. However, please note that we won’t process applications without any attachments whatsoever.
• All attachments must be sent to us within 30 days of submitting the application or by the application deadline at the very latest.
• You can submit all the documents electronically. Please don’t send anything via regular mail.
• There is a late application fee for applications or attachments submitted after the application deadline.
• Note that you will also have to submit an application through HUFS’ own application portal at http://www.uwayapply.com/ in addition to submitting the application to Asia Exchange. The portal will be open during application periods for Early and Regular Decisions.
• Please note both of the full degree application periods have strict deadlines and late applications will not be accepted.

The application process includes two different application periods, called the early and regular application periods. Both application periods are identical, and it does not matter whether you apply during the early or regular period. You will need to submit all required documents to Asia Exchange as well as HUFS’ Uway application portal.

After the application period is over admissions notifications will be posted on the HUFS’ website at http://international.hufs.ac.kr. Log in with the ID and password you received after applying through Uwayapply to view whether you have been directly accepted or whether you need to attend a short interview before acceptance.

After the interviews have been conducted, students can view the final admissions notifications at http://international.hufs.ac.kr or on the HUFS pre-arrival pages for full degree students here. Students then enter the registration period, during which you will have to pay your first-semester tuition fee directly to the university as well as enroll for on-campus accommodation.

CO2 OFFSETTING

Unfortunately, traveling by plane to study abroad increases the carbon footprint of each student. Over the past years, it has become more apparent than ever: we face a climate crisis and air transport is responsible for up to 10% of humankind’s contribution to global warming. But should students stop pursuing their dreams of studying abroad and sacrifice their future goals? We don’t think so!

We see it as our responsibility to preserve our environment, live a sustainable life, and minimize the carbon footprint of each of our students. Consequently, Asia Exchange has chosen to work with Atmosfair, a non-profit organization that actively contributes to CO₂ mitigation and offers Co2 offsetting. You can now easily donate a free amount of money to Atmosfair’s projects dedicated to offsetting Co2 emissions. During the application process for your study abroad program, you have the opportunity to donate and mitigate your flight emissions.
